The Community Partners Board sponsors two sites - the Rainbow Room located inside the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services building in Corpus Christi, Texas and the Raindrop Room, a smaller room located in Robstown, Texas. Both rooms are on-site resource centers for CPS caseworkers to obtain emergency supplies for the children and families they serve. The primary purpose of the Rainbow Room is to serve as an emergency resource center containing new goods to be distributed and used for the benefit of CPS caseworkers serving abused and neglected children in Nueces County.
These resource rooms are designed in a store-like setting and stock only NEW donated or purchased items, such as infant and children’s clothing, baby blankets, diapers, Pull-ups, duffle bags, hygiene items, school supplies, backpacks and cleaning supplies. The Rainbow and Raindrop Rooms are in constant use and are in constant need of replenishment. The Rooms serve on average 100-120 children per month. These children have been brought to the attention of CPS due to abuse or neglect taking place in the home. Once these children/families have their basic needs met, the caseworker is able to focus on the work it takes to improve the conditions of life for these victims.
